Mustang is one of the seventy-five districts of Nepal; it is a dry desert area. It has been divided into two the lower mustang and the upper mustang. For the local people the main attraction is the Hindu pilgrim Muktinath which is Hindu temple and is one of the important religious temple of Lord Shiva. Throughout the year weather is chilly. in addition to that you never know when there will be snowfall. This place can surprise you with its phenomenal climate 24*7. We had three days trip.
We started our journey from Pokhara at 10 in the morning. Booked a cab for 6.
For those who want to visit Mustang can have different alternatives you can choose the following options for your travelling
1)From Kathmandu take plane for Pokhara , from there plane for Jomsom but from there you have to take cab to reach lower and upper mustang
2)or else you can have local bus facilities or can hire a cab according to your budget.
3) for bikers also there is option. if you are travel lover and adventurous you can hire your own bike from Pokhara.
As we started we went through different places like Baglung, Beni, Kabhrevir, Rupse waterfall, Tatopani (hot spring).
After three hours we found the stall where we had wai_wai (Nepal’s famous ready to make noodles) and we resumed our journey again.
There is a valley where it is advised by local people (also our cab driver told us) to cross that open valley before dusk because the flow of water becomes fast also it is dangerous because when you are in cab or bike you cannot predict the depth of waterflow incase the water is deep it can take along with it. BE CAREFUL!!
Around 6 in the evening it started raining roads became slippery lucky we found a small cottage near army check post in Tukuche.
Ordered local drinks!
Went to bed!
